      Hon. Thushara Indunil Amarasena,— To ask the Minister of Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Regional Development,—

      (a) Will he inform this House —

      (i) whether he is aware of the fact that cultivations such as mango, cashew, guava, papaw and pomegranate as well as coconut which are the major cultivations that farmers residing in Yapahuwa, Polpithigama, Ibbagamuwa, Madahapola and Ambagahalanda areas depend on, get heavily affected by wild animals such as giant squirrels, monkeys, wild boar, porcupines and peacocks; and

      (ii) of the steps taken by the Ministry to safeguard the agricultural produce of the aforementioned farmers from wild animals?

      (b) If not, why?
