(Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as Prime Minister was sworn in as Acting President on the resignation of President Rajapaksa on 14.07.2022 and he functioned in this capacity till 20.07.2022 when he was elected by Parliament to the office of President under Article 40 of the Constitution.
