Hon. Shehan Semasinghe, — To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that there was a fire at the Eppawala Phosphate Company on 21.06.2016; and
(ii) if so, of the loss incurred as a result of this fire?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether an investigation is being carried out in this regard and if so, of the progress of such investigation;
(ii) whether the Government Analyst has carried out an investigation regarding this matter;
(iii) if so, of the contents of such report;
(iv) whether the those who are responsible for this act have been identified as per the investigations; and
(v) if so, of the action that will be taken against them in future?
(c) If not, why?
