Hon Mohamadu Nazeer,— To ask the Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms,—
(a) Is she aware that —
(i) a proposal had been presented for establishing a circuit court for Deltota area, which is located about 40 km away from Kandy City, with the view to enabling the people living in Deltota area to overcome the inconveniences and difficulties they have to face as they come to the Kandy city for their judicial purposes; and
(ii) the Provincial Department of Education of the Central Province has agreed to provide for that purpose a building of a school belonging to that Province that has been closed down at present?
(b) Will she inform this House whether steps will be taken to establish a circuit court in Deltota town taking into consideration the opportunity the people living in Pathahewaheta and Deltota Divisional Secretariat Divisions and in the surrounding areas get to have their judicial purposes fulfilled without difficulty?
(c) If not, why?
