Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House of the number of teachers recruited for government teacher service during the period from 1989 to 1990?
(b) Is he aware that—
(i) the aforesaid teachers are nearing retirement; and
(ii) large number of vacancies will be created in the teacher service after the aforesaid teachers are retired?
(c) Will he also inform this House of the actions that will be taken by the Ministry to address this situation?
(d) If not, why?
