Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Heshan Jayawardhana,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development & Housing,—
(a) Will he admit the Fact that—
(i) garbage is dumped to the Wattala marshy lands, which is a highly sensitive ecosystem, by the Urban Development Authority;
(ii) this has made a severely detrimental impact on the species of fauna and flora found in that ecosystem?
(b) Will he inform this House of the steps to be taken to prevent garbage being dumped in the Wattala marshy lands and protect that ecosystem?
(c) If not, why?
