Hon. Vadivel Suresh,— To ask the Minister of Finance,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of liquor shops that are run in the Badulla District;
(ii) separately, of the number of such liquor shops located in each of the Divisional Secretariat Divisions in that District;
(iii) whether he is aware that most of the aforesaid liquor shops are located in or close to the plantation areas; and
(iv) if so, of the number of liquor shops located in such areas?
(b) Will he further inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that most of the liquor shops that are run in the Badulla District are located close to religious places or schools; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to remove the liquor shops that are run in a manner that causes a nuisance to the people living in plantation areas?
(c) If not, why?
