Hon. Premalal Jayasekara,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development & Housing ,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the nature of the role played by the Plantation Human Development Trust for the welfare of estate workers;
(ii) the number of regional offices operating under the aforesaid institute;
(iii) the names of the areas in which the aforesaid offices have been established; and
(iv) separately, the number of estate workers to whom services are provided by each of the aforesaid regional offices;
(b) Will he also state—
(i) separately, the amounts of funds requested from the Ministry for each project implemented by each of the aforesaid regional offices from year 2015 to 2020;
(ii) separately, the amount of funds allocated to each regional office for each of the aforesaid projects; and
(iii) whether an assurance can be given that the amount of provisions that have been allocated by the Ministry has been fairly distributed among the aforesaid regional offices in proportion to the number of plantation workers to whom services are provided by each regional office?
(c) If not, why?
