Hon. Charles Nirmalanathan,— To ask the Minister of Power and Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that electricity consumers have been subjected to severe inconvenience as district electrical engineers have not been appointed for Mannar and Mulativu districts;
(ii) whether steps will be taken to appoint electrical engineers for the said districts; and
(iii) whether steps will be taken to provide the required physical resources for those engineers?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that no person residing in Mannar district has been provided employment up to now despite the promise given by the then Prime Minister at the opening of the Mannar wind power plant that priority will be given to the residents of Mannar district in providing employment at the said plant; and
(ii) if so, whether steps will be taken to provide employment at the said plant to the residents of Mannar district?
(c) If not, why?
