Hon. Padmasiri Bandara,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House —
(i) whether she is aware that the government school teacher transfers are made according to the National Teacher Transfer Policy, except for disciplinary issues;
(ii) whether she is aware that the National Teacher Transfer Policy has not been properly implemented in the recent past;
(iii) if so, of the policy measures that will be taken in that regard;
(iv) whether she is aware that rampant corruption, fraud and irregularities have taken place in the admission of students to government schools in the recent past; and
(v) of the practical mechanism that will be implemented to prevent them?
(b) Will she also inform this House —
(i) whether she is aware that there are numerous vacancies in the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service, Sri Lanka Teacher Educators’ Service, and Sri Lanka Principals’ Service;
(ii) if so, separately, of the number of vacancies existing in each of the services referred to above; and.
(iii) of the measures that will be taken to fill the vacancies referred to above?
(c) If not, why?
