      Hon.   (Dr.) Harsha De Silva,— To ask the Minister of Labour and Labour               Relations,—

      (a) Will he state—

      (i) the legal policy framework adopted when employees are recruited to government and private sector institutions on temporary basis;

      (ii) the period of time they must be employed on temporary basis to be confirmed in their post;

      (iii) whether the employer has a legal obligation to make any other payment (monthly or at the termination of their service) in addition to the salary paid during the period of time during which they are employed on temporary basis;

      (iv) whether they are entitled to Employees Provident Fund and Employees Trust Fund benefits; and

      (v) if not, why?

      (b) If not, why?
