Hon. T.B. Ekanayake,— To ask the Minister of Housing and Samurdhi,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether it is planned to carry out the selection of Divi Neguma Development Officers under two new methods instead of the four methods of selection adopted at the inception of the Divi Neguma Development Department;
(ii) if so, whether the Divi Neguma Act will be amended for this purpose;
(iii) as to how the pension contribution of 6% is to be deducted from the new employees recruited under the said two new schemes;
(iv) whether action will be taken to pay the Provident Fund of the employees who have opted as of now to be recruited as Divi Neguma Development Officers on the basis of the initial period of service; and
(v) if so, how?
(b) If not, why?
