Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture —
(a) Will he state —
(i) whether the seed paddy subsidy has been given to the farmers who cultivated paddy in the Maha season of 2014/2015 as per the proposal made through the budget presented for the year 2015;
(ii) whether the provisions required for the payment of the aforesaid subsidy to the farmers in the Badulla District had been received by 21.11.2014;
(iii) if so, the reason for delaying the payment of that subsidy to the aforesaid farmers; and
(iv) the reasons for not making arrangements to pay the seed paddy subsidy without delay to all the farmers in addition to those in the Badulla District?
(b) If not, why?
