Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha, — To ask the Minister of Internal Transport, —
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the most senior engineer is appointed as the Railway General Manager as per the accepted tradition of the Department of Railway;
(ii) a person who stood at the 09th position in the seniority order had been appointed for the aforesaid post by the cabinet approval dated 16.10.2014 after the removal of the acting Railway General Manager who had been appointed according to the above tradition; and
(iii) the present Acting Railway General Manager who was appointed accordingly had also served as the project director of the Matara-Kataragama Railway Construction Project?
(b) Will he state —
(i) the reasons for the removal of the Acting Railway General Manager who possessed the required qualifications in the manner mentioned in (a) (ii) above; and
(ii) whether action will be taken to rectify any act of injustice or irregularities if such has occurred through the aforesaid removal?
(c) If not, why?
