Hon. S. Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) patients from areas like Mullative, Mankulam,Mallavi, Mulankavil, Punahari and Palai come to Kilinochchci District Hospital to obtain daily treatment;
(ii) no construction has been done in this hospital subsequent to the year 2009;
(iii) a blood dialysis machine which has been fixed in this hospital for Kidney patients is not functioning; and
(iv) an accident unit too is not available here?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) if so, of the date on which the Blood Dialysis Centre and the Accident Unit will be made to function; and
(ii) whether financial allocations have been made for that purpose?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that financial aid was provided by the Asian Development Bank for the first phase of this hospital;
(ii) of the reasons for not yet commencing the second phase construction;
(iii) whether it has been abandoned;
(iv) if not, of the date on which it will be commenced; and
(v) of the steps that have been taken for that purpose?
(d) If not, why?
