      Hon. Dilum Amunugama,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Planning,—

      (a) Will he inform this House of—

      (i) the number of employees in the public service in the year 2004 ;

      (ii) the number of employees in the public service by the year 2010 ; and

      (iii) the number of persons recruited to the public service from the year 2004 up to now?

      (b) Will he state—

      (i) whether action will be taken to increase the aforesaid number of employees further ; and

      (ii) the action taken for such an increase?

      (c) If not, why?
