Hon. Ruwan Ranatunga,— To ask the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development,—
(a) Is he aware that the 4536 square foot warehouse situated at section No. 175 C on Vauxhall Street and belonging to Janatha Estate Development Board, has been leased to Global Tea Bags Company situated at No. 345, R.A. De Mel Mawatha, Colombo 3 for a monthly rent of Rs. 58968/= ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the government valuation report and Cabinet approval have been obtained for the relevant lease agreement ;
(ii) whether the relevant lessees have acted legally in compliance with the lease agreement ;
(iii) of the measures that will be taken, if they have not done so ;
(iv) whether measures will be taken to revert the warehouse to Janatha Estate Development Board, if the lessee has not acted legally ;
(v) of the persons to be held responsible, if the lessees have not acted legally ; and
(vi) of the measures that will be taken with respect to them?
(c) If not, why?
