Hon. T. Ranjith De Soyza,— To ask the Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the consumption of illicit liquor (Kasippu) has increased annually within the last few years;
(ii) whether the number of raids to seize illicit liquor (Kasippu) being carried out has been reduced;
(iii) of the number of places raided that were selling illicit liquor (Kasippu) and the amount of liters of illicit liquor seized in the years of 2015, 2016 and within the first six months of the year 2017 separately in each year; and
(iv) of the future measures the Ministry will take to prevent illicit liquor (Kasippu) production?
(b) If not, why?
