Hon. Douglas Devananda,—To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) the Road Development Authority commenced the construction works of the bridge that is located in the main road that runs towards the village of Valluwarpannai, Uttruppulam, in the Killinochchi District on 25th August 2016 under the ‘programme to develop one thousand bridges’;
(ii) the contract period of the aforesaid bridge ended on 21st May 2017; and
(iii) the construction works of the aforesaid bridge are yet to be completed?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether some action has been taken to complete the construction works of the aforesaid bridge; and
(ii) if so, of the date on which the construction works of the aforesaid bridge will be completed?
(c) If not, why?
