Hon. S. M. Marikkar,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Kuda Buthgamuva Rajasinghe Vidyalaya is the only mixed National School available in Kolonnawa Education Division;
(ii) at present, that school is facing decline day by day due to the shortage of physical and human resources;
(iii) currently there are 26 vacancies in the academic staff and 10 vacancies in the non-academic staff of that school; and
(iv) due to this situation, the students of that school tend to go to other schools to do G.C.E. (Advanced Level) after passing the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of nature of the plans that are in place to fill these vacancies;
(ii) of the date on which steps will be taken to implement those plans;
(iii) separately of the provisions that have been allocated for the development of physical and human resources of this school in year 2017;
(iv) of the progress of the programmes that have been implemented at present utilizing such provisions;
(v) whether it has been planned to allocate provisions for the development of physical and human resources of this school in year 2018; and
(vi) if, so what those provisions are?
(c) If not, why?
