  • Prevent the mis-invoicing in imports and exports trade
    • Fully digitalize trade processes and enable the seamless electronic exchange and legal recognition of trade-related data and documents across borders, rather than only among stakeholders of the same country
    • Expand information sharing between importing and exporting countries in order to make trade transactions more transparent and enable these authorities to regularly exchange more financial information and trade documents electronically across international borders.
    • Make trade mis- invoicing illegal and strengthen law enforcement of Customs Authorities at the national level
  • Action should be taken regarding 240 vehicles within 6 months which are being detained by Sri Lanka Customs due to the violation of import restrictions imposed by the Government
    • Take a Cabinet Decision for the auctioning of these vehicles and to directly credit the amount of money received from the auction to the Consolidated Fund as these Vehicles were detained due to a policy decision taken by the Treasury to temporarily suspend the importation of vehicles to mitigate the forex issue.
  • Impose taxes and duties for the gems based on the value of the gems and to declare the number of units to the Customs by amending the Extraordinary Gazette 1762/40 dated 15.06.2012
    • Take a Cabinet Decision for the auctioning of these vehicles and to directly credit the amount of money received from the auction to the Consolidated Fund as these Vehicles were detained due to a policy decision taken by the Treasury to temporarily suspend the importation of vehicles to mitigate the forex issue.
