Hon. R. Yogarajan,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that a serious shortage of teachers prevails in the Hameed Al- Hussainiyya College at No. 45, Hussainiyya Street, Colombo 12 ?
(b) Will he inform this House of —
(i) the approved cadre of teachers of aforesaid school in Sinhala and Tamil medium on subject wise ;
(ii) the number of teachers available in each medium on subject wise;
(iii) the shortage of teachers in each medium on subject wise;
(iv) the action that will be taken to address the above shortage of teachers; and
(v) as to when such action is taken?
(c) Is he aware that an excess of teachers prevails at Royal, Ananda and Nalanda College?
(d) Will he state—
(i) the number of teachers excess in the schools mentioned in part (c) on medium wise and subject wise; and
(ii) whether actions will be taken to transfer those excess teachers to Hameed Al-Hussainiyya college to fill the existing vacancies?
(e) If not, why?
