    1. 406/’18

      Hon. Vasudeva Nanayakkara,—To ask the Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development,—

      (a) Will he inform this House—

      (i) whether he is aware of the fact that Mr. K.D. Premasiri of No. 137, Awissawella Road, Wellampitiya was turned down and the                     then Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education and Highways  refused acceptance of his appeal regarding an injustice caused to him when lands were acquired for road development;

      (ii) whether he admits that the conventional practice is to accept the appeal when such appeals are submitted by any party and that refusing to accept an appeal is not the appropriate conduct that should be adopted by a government servant; and

      (iii) if so, whether action will be taken to accept the said appeal, take impartial action in this regard and inform the appellant?

      (b) If not, why?
