Hon. Mayantha Dissanayake,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration & Disaster Management,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) whether a specific date has been declared by the government for the public to meet officials in government offices to fulfill their requirements;
(ii) whether a circular has been issued with regard to the public day, details of it;
(iii) whether a public day has been declared, and measures have been taken to address the difficulties faced by the public, by conducting staff meetings and other meetings on the day;
(iv) whether higher officials of the divisional and district offices are summoned to head offices in Colombo on specific public days;
(v) if so, measures taken to meet the requirements of the public on such days; and
(vi) whether new initiatives that will be implemented to assure a productive public service for the people ?
(b) If not, why?
