Hon. S. Shritharan,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that a large number of agro farms are being maintained by the Department of Civil Security Force in Killinochchi, Mullativu, Vavuniya and Mannar Districts;
(ii) the number of agro farms in each district, separately;
(iii) the total number of persons that work in the aforesaid farms; and
(iv) the location of each of the aforesaid farms along with land area that belongs to each farm, separately?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) the reason for not handing over to the Northern Provincial Council yet the farms that should be handed over to it, out of the farms that operate under the purview of the Department of Civil Security; and
(ii) the date on which the aforesaid farms will be handed over to the Northern Provincial Council?
(c) If not, why?
