Hon. A. Aravindh Kumar,— To ask the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the amount spent for the foreign tours made by officers for making orders for goods and for quality testing in implementing the locally funded and foreign funded projects of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board during the period from the year 2010 up to now is included into the cost of the project or the Board;
(ii) whether all the details in that regard will be submitted;
(iii) whether attention will be paid to bring the samples of the relevant goods or making quality testing having brought the said goods to Sri Lanka Ports Authority in order to minimize the huge loss incurred as a result of the fact that officers make foreign tours from time to time to make quality testing of the ordered goods though their duties are covered during that period of time; and
(iv) if not, whether action will be taken to implement any other suitable system to make the quality testing of goods?
(b) If not, why?
