Hon. (Dr.) Bandula Gunawardana,— To ask the Minister of Finance,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the tax revisions that have been made with regard to increasing of share market transactions that had declined as stated in budget proposal No. 287 of the 2016 budget;
(ii) whether he would explain using relevant indices, consequent to the aforesaid effective revisions the extent of the increase of share market transactions that were said to have declined;
(iii) whether he would present to this House a data sheet containing information about the amount of share market transactions that have been done in each of the years since 2009 to date; and
(iv) whether he would explain to this House the tendencies of foreign investments in Sri Lanka’s share market during the period from year 2010 to 2017 after the war had ended?
(b) If not, why?
