Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that the construction work of the Karasnagala water supply scheme, which was initiated by the pervious government with a view to providing drinking water to people in 5 divisional secretariat divisions in the Gampaha district, has come to a halt;
(ii) of the present state of that project;
(iii) of the measures taken to take that project forward;
(iv) whether he admits that the scheduled date of completion of the project and providing benefits to the people has long expired; and
(v) if so, the expected date of completion of the project and providing benefits to the people?
(b) If not, why?
