Hon. Thenuka Vidanagamage,— To ask the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the current situation pertaining to the Drinking Water Supply Projects launched in Mahiyanganaya electorate of Badulla district in 2013;
(ii) of the number of families for which the drinking water was scheduled to be provided by the first phase of aforesaid Integrated Water Supply Project;
(iii) of the number of families for which drinking water could not be supplied;
(iv) of the current situation of aforesaid water supply project;
(v) whether there is a move to launch the second phase of foresaid water supply project; and
(vi) if so, of the current situation of the aforesaid second phase?
(b) Will he inform this House of the measures taken by the Ministry to fulfill the drinking water needs of the people of Mahiyanganaya electorate where a large number of kidney patients reside?
(c) If not, why?
