Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,— To ask the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Facilities Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the people in the villages of Kanchirankuda, Pawakkadichena, Panchena and Iluppadichena in the Wavunathivu Divisional Secretary’s division in the Batticaloa district, are not yet provided with drinking water facilities; and
(ii) the people living in those villages are faced with an acute shortage of water owing to that?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether steps would be taken to provide drinking water facilities to the above villages; and
(ii) if so, the period of time within which those villages would be provided with drinking water facilities?
(c) If not, why?
