Hon. Sanjeeva Edirimanna,— To ask the Minister of Industries,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that those engaged in cane and reed related industries are faced with problems in sourcing supplies of raw materials;
(ii) if so, whether a suitable arrangement has been made for the supply of raw materials to those industrialists;
(iii) whether a programme has been prepared to provide land on long-term lease basis for the cultivation of cane and reed;
(iv) if so, of the date on which the aforesaid programme will be implemented; and
(v) the areas in which the aforesaid programme will be implemented?
(b) If not, why?
