Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Lands and Land Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the Land Titling Division of the Ministry of Lands and Land Development has discovered many inadequacies in the present Registration of Titles Act; and
(ii) the Bar Association of Sri Lanka has also made recommendations to amend the aforesaid Act?
(b) Will he state separately, the identified inadequacies and the proposed amendments in relation to the Title Registration Act as per (a) (i) and (ii) above?
(c) Will he inform this House of the actions being taken to make those amendments by Parliament?
(d) Will he admit that —
(i) in spite of many inadequacies, the Ministry of Lands and Land Development is vigorously implementing the Registration of Titles Act, No. 21 of 1998;and
(ii) the relevant Ministry is endeavouring to incorporate 105 new Sections to the aforesaid Act without changing the identified inadequacies?
(e) If not, why?
