Hon. D. Weerasingha,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that there is scarcity of seed paddy in Sri Lanka at present; and
(ii) of the measures taken to prevent the aforesaid scarcity?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether suitable areas and farmers have been identified for production of seed paddy;
(ii) of the facilities that will be provided to the aforesaid farmers; and
(iii) whether measures have been taken to produce seed paddy required for both ‘Yala’ and ‘Maha’ seasons?
(c) If not, why?
