Hon. D. Weerasingha,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will she inform this House—
(i) whether she is aware that chemical toxins are used to eradicate the rats found in homes along with the rats that destroy crops;
(ii) of the name of the agency which determines the composition of the aforesaid chemical toxins;
(iii) whether she is aware that even the endemic animals die by eating the rats that die due to the ingestion of chemical toxins; and
(iv) if so, whether action will be taken to adopt biological methods to control the rat menace?
(b) If not, why?
