Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of registered institutes organizing pilgrimage to Dambadiva and their addresses separately for each district in Sri Lanka;
(ii) the number of Sri Lankans who had worshiped Dambadiva from 2015 to 2018, separately, relating to each year;
(iii) Whether he is aware of the fact that certain institutes organizing pilgrimage to Dambadiva do not follow proper measures regarding the security of those pilgrims;
(iv) whether he admits that the said pilgrims suffer severe hardships as a result; and
(v) whether formal measures will be formulated to ensure the security of pilgrims and to regulate the institutes organizing pilgrimage to Dambadiva?
(b) If not, why?
