Hon. Thavaraja Kalai Arasan,— To ask the Minister of Urban Development and Housing,—
(a) Will he inform the House—
(i) whether he is aware that resettlement activities have not been completed up to now in Kanchikudichcharu, Thangavelayudapuram, Sagamam and Kanchirankuda, which are villages that had been severely affected during the period of past conflicts within the Thirukkovil Divisional Secretariat Division of Ampara District;
(ii) of the initial steps were taken for resettling people of the villages referred to above after the end of conflict situation;
(iii) of the number of houses have been constructed in these villages up to now;
(iv) of the number of houses have been scheduled to be constructed; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to complete the activities of resettling people in the villages referred to above before the end of the year 2023?
(b) If not, why?
