Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that a pledge was made under the “Mahinda Chinthana- Dinawamu Sri Lanka” manifesto, that a meal of rice would be provided free of charge to the school children for their mid day meal ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether all the students receive the mid day meal as per the aforesaid pledge;
(ii) if not, reasons for that;
(iii) of the number of schools, that provide a meal of rice for the mid day meal at present; and
(iv) of the basis on which the aforesaid schools were selected for the purpose of providing the mid day meal ?
(c) If not, why ?
