Hon. Vadivel Suresh,— To ask the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Hindu kovils have been constructed in the estates and cities of Badulla District for the religious purposes of the Hindu people;
(ii) that estate kovils have been built using the membership fees collected from the monthly wages of estate workers and provisions made by public representatives; and
(iii) that many of the kovils constructed in the estates are partially constructed due to financial difficulties?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of kovils constructed in Badulla district;
(ii) whether steps will be taken to develop the kovils built around the estates;
(iii) if so, of the steps taken for the development/conservation of those temples?
(c) If not, why?
