Hon. Lalith Ellawala,— To ask the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the total amount of money that has been spent on the construction of Rajapaksa International Airport in Mattala;
(ii) whether foreign donations were received for the construction of the said airport;
(iii) if so, of the value of each of the said donations separately;
(iv) of the amount of public funds spent on the construction of the said airport;
(v) of the names of the institutions from which the aforesaid funds were obtained; and
(vi) of the amounts of the income and the expenditure of the aforesaid airport from the date of commencement of its operations to date separately as per year basis?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether tenders were called for the construction of the aforesaid airport;
(ii) if not, of the methodology adopted in selecting the concerned construction company for the construction of the said airport;
(iii) if the construction works of the said airport were carried out by a foreign company, of the name of the agent of that company in Sri Lanka?
If not, why?
