Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, Attorney at Law,—To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the amount earned as tax income by the government by selling petroleum oils from 21.09.2023 to 20.09.2024;
(ii) of the profit earned / loss incurred by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation during the period referred to above;
(iii) whether frauds have occurred in selling fuel during the period concerned;
(iv) if so, of the amount that was defrauded per litre in respect of each fuel, separately;
(v) of the total amount of money so defrauded; and
(vi) whether the amount so defrauded from each litre is deducted from the price of fuels and its benefit is given to consumers as a relief at present?
(b) If not, why?
