Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,— To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) the road leading to Kokkatticholai from Ambilanthurai belonging to the Manmune South-West Divisional Secretariat Division in the Batticaloa District has not been reconstructed;
(ii) although relevant authorities have been informed of it, no step has been taken so far towards reconstructing this road; and
(iii) many people in the area, including schoolchildren and government employees, use this road for commuting and transport?
(b) If so, will he inform this House whether steps will be taken to reconstruct the road leading from Ambilanthurai to Kokkattichalai?
(c) If not, why?
