Hon. (Dr.) Pathmanathan Sathiyalingam,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government,— (1)
(a) Will he accept that—
(i) the pension of the pensioners who were retired from 01.01.2016 to 31.12.2019 was revised along with the operation of the salary scales specified in Public Administration Circular No. 03/2016 in full, from 01.01.2020, accordingly;
(ii) the Public Administration Circular No. 35/2019 has been issued as per the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 11.11.2019 ;
(iii) the Cabinet of Ministers decided to suspend it temporarily on 02.01.2020; and
(iv) because of that, the pensioners who were retired from 01.01.2016 to 31.12.2019 are aggrieved on account of losing the pension that they should have received from 01.01.2020?
(b) Will he state —
(i) whether steps will taken to enforce the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 11.11.2019 by having the decision dated 02.01.2020 cancelled;
(ii) whether steps will taken to pay the pension receivable from 01.01.2020 from the year 2025;
(iii) if so, the sum of money should be allocated for that in 2025;
(iv) of the number of aggrieved persons as per (a)(iv) above; and
(v) of the number of deceased persons out of the above number?
(c) If not, why?
