Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the programme to create 2500 home garden cultivations and 19 orchard villages implemented under the Eastern Reawakening Programme (Negenahira Navodaya) as mentioned in ‘Mahinda Chinthana - Vision for the Future’ has been further expanded; and
(ii) if so, of the total number of home garden cultivations and orchard villages started in the Eastern Province by now under the said programme, separately?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether a new trade system has been introduced to market the produce of the home garden cultivations and orchard villages started under the said programme according to Mahinda Chinthana; and
(ii) if so, of the details of that system?
(c) If not, why ?
