Hon. Aruna Panagoda,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there had been a land that belonged to the Land Reform Commission in Mahenawatta area in Pitipana;
(ii) or else, whether there is a land that belongs to the Land Reform Commission in that area;
(iii) whether that land has been sold to any party;
(iv) if not, whether there is a plan to sell that land;
(v) if the land has been sold, of the total amount it has been sold;
(vi) of the value of a perch of that land;
(vii) of the reasons for selling that land to an external party in a situation where lands are needed for government activities; and
(viii) whether action will be taken to acquire that land back to the government?
(b) If not, why?
