    1. Hon. T.K. Jayasundara,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)

      (a) Will he accept that —

      (i) the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital has not yet carried out the steps necessary to enable Mr. Kahaduwa Arachchige Nihal, who had served as a Medical Laboratory Technologist from 03.07.1984 and retired on 18.03.2020, to obtain his pension; and

      (ii) even though 05 years has lapsed since his retirement, leaving the work relating to the payment of his pension incomplete is a weakness of the Ministry of Health?

      (b) Will he inform this House—

      (i) of the reason for not accepting the report of the Preliminary Inquiry Board appointed pursuant to the letter No. FQ/02/2018 of the Director of Karapitiya Hospital dated 08.12.2023 and releasing the documents required for his retirement after charging him the relevant dues;

      (ii) of the reason for not informing Mr. Nihal about the said report;

      (iii) if the report mentioned in (i) above is not accepted, of the reason for that;

      (iv) if so, of the actions that have been taken in this regard;

      (v) of the reasons for not informing Mr. Nihal about the actions concerned; and

      (vi) of the actions that will be taken against the officers who are delaying the processing of the pension of Mr. Nihal, who is suffering from Parkinson's disease since the year 2020?

      (c) If not, why?
