Hon. Kins Nelson,—To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of corporations/companies currently engaged in the petroleum business in Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the names of those;
(iii) whether he is aware of the statement made by the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to the effect that petroleum prices cannot be reduced due to agreements entered into by the previous government with the aforesaid companies and that if the prices are reduced, compensations would have to be paid to the companies concerned;
(iv) whether he will inform the truth/falsity of this statement; and
(v) if so, of the steps that will be taken to revise the agreements referred to above?
(b) If not, why?
