Hon. Rajeevan Jeyachandramoorthy,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the appointments given to graduates of foreign universities as Development Officers, during the previous government’s recruitment of Development officers have subsequently been revoked;
(ii) of the specific reasons for such revocation;
(iii) of the solution that will be given to the graduates of foreign universities aggrieved by it;
(iv) whether graduates of foreign universities will be recruited to the public sector in future without subjecting them to any injustice or discrimination;
(v) if not, of the reasons for it; and
(vi) of the solution that will be given to the persons whose appointments to the post of Development Officer were revoked, including those who had not exceeded the age limit of 45 years at the time of recruitment in 2020 but are above that age limit at present?
(b) If not, why?
