Hon. (Prof.) L.M. Abeywickrama,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House —
(i) whether the qualification of having obtained a bachelor's degree with a class, which was a requirement for recruitment to the posts of Senior Lecturer and Senior Educator of the National Institute of Education, has been removed in the process of updating the said recruitment scheme;
(ii) similarly, whether the previous requirement of having the qualification of experience in teaching has also been removed;
(iii) whether the previous requirement of having the qualification of ‘experience obtained from a recognized institution’ has been amended to include ‘experience obtained from a recognized private institution’ in the process of updating the recruitment scheme for the above-mentioned posts; and
(iv) of the objectives of amending the recruitment qualifications as is mentioned above?
(b) If not, why ?
