Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of roads running across the railway lines in Sri Lanka ;
(ii) of the aforesaid cross roads, the number of roads identified as being used daily by a large number of passengers ; and
(iii) the number of level crossings installed at the aforesaid cross roads?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) separately, the number of accidents and the number of deaths occurred annually at the unprotected level crossings, from the year 2010 up to now ;
(ii) separately, the value of damages caused to property from such accidents annually from the year 2006 up to now ;
(iii) the amount of money required to install one level crossing ; and
(iv) the salary or the allowance paid monthly to a worker serving at a level crossing?
(c) If not, why ?
