Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs,—
(a) Will he state the total number of rape cases, reported in the year 2012?
(b) Will he also state separately—
(i) the number of rape cases that were recorded in the year 2008 on district basis and during the period of 2009-2011, annually;
(ii) the number of under 18 rape cases that were recorded during the period of 2008-2012, annually; and
(iii) the number of rape cases that were recorded with regard to the age groups of 19-20, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and above 60, during the aforesaid period?
(c) Will he inform this House of the number of complaints received, against the individuals who are connected with politics, concerning the aforesaid rape cases?
(d) If not, why?
